Edgar Shaw was born in Oshkosh in 1886 and died in 1955. He worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company from 1913-1951. He also owned his own gun shop. In the shop, he repaired guns, made and checkered gun stocks, and made canvasback and bluebill duck decoys. He also sighted in guns used by the Oshkosh Police Force and the Winnebago County Sheriffs office. Shaw hunted with his bluebill decoys for many years and kept them in top notch condition. Most of his canvasback rig was stolen and what is found is usually in well worn condition.
