Edgar Wendorf worked as a carpenter for the Carrier Company of Juneau. His decoys are well made and are popular among collectors. His decoys were made of wood before 1954 and cork with a bottom board after that time. He carved mostly mallards and bluebills. Edgar worked as a carpenter with his son Ray after retiring in 1967, and continued to carve for some time up until his death at 91 years of age in 1979.
