Duck Decoys

Gordon Ceskowske

Fox Lake/Milwaukee

Ceskowske worked as a boat pilot for the City of Milwaukee. He made regular runs to Jones Island and had some open time between trips that he used to carve decoys. He was an accomplished carver and spent time teaching carving at Milwaukee Technical College. He carved mostly Mallards and Pintails and produced both miniatures and full sized decoys. In his later life he hunted near his family cabin at Fox Lake. Many thanks to William Morrissey for providing this information.
