Rev. Leander Strodtman

Cassville

Leander Strodtman was born in Cassville in 1893. He became an ordained Baptist minister in 1934. He practiced in Franksville, WI before retiring and moving back to Cassville in 1951. Leander had a lifelong love of woodworking and whittling. He operated Strodtmans Service and Specialty Shop offering furniture making, repair and refinishing. He also made gunstocks, decoys, along with repairing many antique items for the Nelson Dewey Farm Museum in Cassville. Strodtman's favorite woods were walnut and butternut for furniture and gunstocks, and cedar for decoys. He died in Cassville in 1965.
