Duck Decoys

Robert E Kubinek

Eagle River

Kubinek immigrated from Austria in the early 1900’s. He married his wife Hattie in Chicago in 1916 and relocated to the Eagle River area shortly thereafter. He and Hattie raised 2 children, Robert H and Alice who were born in 1918 and 1920. The 1920 census lists his occupation as a barber and indicates the family lived on a farm. A rig of small bluebill decoys was purchased from his son which he had inherited from his father. There is no indication he made any other decoys. His son claimed that his father made them.
